Endometriosis, a common inflammatory disease associated with pelvic pain and infertility is what FEMaLe focuses on. Endometriosis is characterised by lesions of endometrial – like tissue outside of
the uterus.

It is a persistent, often recurring, disease found in people of all ethnic and social groups.

It is estimated that as many as 10% (#1in10) of people of reproductive age, menarche to menopause, may be affected by endometriosis, equal to almost 200 million women worldwide.
