When: October 5-8 2022

Where: Berlin, Germany

We are looking forward to participating in the ECSA – European Citizen Science Association Conference on ‘Citizen Science for Planetary Health‘ this week in Berlin, Germany.

The concept of planetary health is based on the understanding that human health and human civilization depend on thriving natural systems and the sustainable stewardship of those natural systems. This demands not only knowledge, commitment and engagement of health and environmental sciences, but inter- and transdisciplinary efforts from all research fields and societal and political actors.

FEMaLe project wouldn’t miss the opportunity of contributing to this exciting event, which is why Liv Juul Nielsen will present – on behalf of an interdisciplinary group of FEMaLers, together with Science for Change – a joint poster entitled ‘Endometriosis and Citizen Health Science: A New Future for Responsible Research and Innovation Priority Setting?’. We will be sharing experiences with and discussing future opportunities for citizen science and endometriosis research.

FEMaLe will be standing on the shoulders of Andrew Horne, Philippa Saunders, Ibtisam Abokhrais and Lyndsey Hogg – on behalf of theEndometriosis Priority Setting Partnership Steering Group – who in 2017 published an article in The Lancet about ‘top ten endometriosis research priorities in the UK and Ireland’.
