The lived experiences of endometriosis in adolescence – A critical hermeneutical perspective” is available here.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the lived experiences of endometriosis in adolescence and the social reactions impact on the illness experience and quality of life.

It found that social experiences have a substantial impact on women’s illness experience and quality of life and affect how women perceive themselves and their symptoms. Through interventions at the social level, it might be possible to change the existing societal discourses surrounding women’s menstruation pain to raise the awareness of endometriosis.
