We already know enough to act. Funders, institutions, research ethics committees, medical journals and publishers, individual researchers and clinicians—as is the case with clinical platform trials—can all play a part (doi:10.1136/bmj.p1809). And they must play it now. The under-representation of women in research is a status quo that is more accurately described as an enduring international scandal.”
